Some 35 years ago, a group of sociable and like-minded young gentlemen met in Kumba, South West Region of the Republic of Cameroon. Thus, the Sceptic Barons (SB) was born. Since that fateful day, the group has evolved significantly, expanding its reach beyond its humble beginnings. The Sceptic Barons is not just a club; it's a vibrant community of thinkers and innovators who cherish open dialogue and the sharing of ideas. Over the decades, they've hosted numerous events, from lively debates to cultural exchanges, fostering friendships and collaborations that transcend geographic boundaries.

The members of SB, hailing from diverse backgrounds, bring a wealth of experiences and perspectives to the table, enriching every gathering with insights that inspire. Their mission goes beyond entertainment; it includes creating awareness around important social issues. Whether discussing the future of technology or the significance of cultural heritage, the Sceptic Barons strive to encourage thoughtful conversations that can lead to meaningful change.

As they look to the future, the Sceptic Barons remain committed to their original vision while adapting to the modern world. Engaging both old and new members, they invite participation in various initiatives aimed at making a difference in their community and beyond.

This spirit of generosity and camaraderie did not wane with the departure of most of the founding members of SB. Rather, it seemed to transcend generations, fostering a sense of community that brought about a new era of collaboration. Another generation of mostly-younger Barons quickly stepped in to fill the vacuum created by the departure of the older crop of Sceptic Barons. These young leaders brought fresh ideas and energy, invigorating the organization's mission. This latter group would continue with the social activities already embarked upon by the founding members, diligently upholding their legacy. Furthermore, they extended the activities to other charitable initiatives, seeking to broaden their impact and reach even more lives. For instance, they dedicated efforts to visiting inmates of penitentiary institutions as well as hospitals, providing companionship and support to those who felt isolated. They also took it upon themselves to provide essential supplies and resources to the needy and, generally, undertook various charitable works that demonstrated their deep commitment to community service. Their actions not only enriched the lives of others but also instilled a sense of purpose and fulfillment within themselves, reinforcing the bonds of solidarity that existed among them.

Subsequent to the departure of the second group of Sceptic Barons, we witnessed a hiatus in the activities which the people of Kumba had become accustomed to. As such, for a period of time, there was a lull of sorts. However, and thanks to the development of social media, the Sceptic Barons, whose membership is currently scattered in a number of countries across several continents, have been able to reunite not only virtually but also physically.

Over the years Sceptic Barons has resumed and even revamped its charity activities with a number of initiatives which have been undertaken recently, mainly in the city of Kumba in the south-west region of Cameroon. In this connection we have donated to orphanages as well as hospitals and we intend to scale up our work in this area, seeking to put a smile on the faces of the needy, giving succour to persons experiencing challenges bearing in mind especially the crisis we have been experiencing back home.

Their initiatives were embraced by the community, creating a ripple effect that encouraged others to join in and participate.

This newfound ability to connect with members worldwide has allowed for the exchange of ideas and rekindling of friendships, breathing new life into the organization.

Over the years, Sceptic Barons has resumed and even revamped its charity activities with a number of initiatives which have been undertaken recently, mainly in the city of Kumba in the south-west region of Cameroon. In this connection, we have donated to orphanages as well as hospitals, providing vital support that can often make a significant difference in the lives of those in desperate need. We have also organized community clean-up campaigns, educational workshops, and mentorship programs aimed at empowering the youth. Additionally, we intend to scale up our work in this area, seeking to put a smile on the faces of the needy, giving succor to persons experiencing challenges, bearing in mind especially the crisis we have been experiencing back home. The determination of the Sceptic Barons to uplift their community is a testament to their enduring spirit and commitment to service.
